EDITORIAL
It is with great sadness that this issue of the Review opens with an in memoriam for professor Jacques Verhaegen in order to express our appreciation for his work in areas covered by the Review and for his significant contribution to the functioning of Belgian Study Centre for Military Law and the Law of War. This is followed by articles on a variety of topics: the prosecution of attacks against peacekeepers, jurisdiction provisions in status of forces agreements relating to operations, the legitimacy of the use of military force under Dutch law and voluntary human shields. The ‘Recent Developments’ section covers a case note on the immunity of the UN before the Dutch Courts and a report on the 2012 NATO Legal Conference. We also include the questionnaire and the programme of the 19th international congress of the International Society for Military Law and the Law of War. This issue ends with some book reviews.
